It's the traditional song (at least in my family) for the father-daughter dance.

I was born out of wedlock with a dead beat dad and 15 year old mom...things were rough, especially between my mom and my grandpa. Then she met a great guy who became my step-father.

On their wedding day, when my grandpa and my mom danced to this song, it really was sort of the 'I approve of what you are doing' and it was really emotional. I was fairly young, and this was the first time the whole situation really hit me. Every time I hear this song, I think of that occasion.
