Wedding Song Advice?

We are all set for our wedding on July 7th. The planning/organization was easy. The hard part for us has been having to choose a wedding song. We don't want anything cliche or tacky, and at the same time, we want something that speaks of our relationship without sacrificing my musical taste or his (I am pretty main-stream and he is off the beaten path).

Please help!

Reply:Are you referring to the "walking down the aisle" song? After hours upon hours of searching for something that we could both agree on, we delighted to find Wagner's Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin. It's traditional but not cliche. Beautiful.
Reply:"Chances Are" by Bob Segar %26amp; Martina McBride

"After All" by Cher %26amp; Peter Ceteria

"You Are My Everything" by Nick Lachey

"I Do Promise You" by 98 degrees
Reply:I have a GIANT list of songs for mine and my sister in laws weddings... I'm not sure if you mean a processional, recessional, first dance or what, but... you can use any of these to be really nice... :)

Thank God I Found You ~ Mariah

I'm Your Angel ~ Celine %26amp; RKelly

Bless The Broken Road ~ Rascall Flatts

Can't Take My Eyes Off of You

Only Hope ~ Mandy Moore (or Switchfoot does it, too)

At Last ~ Etta James

You and Me ~ Lifehouse

Endless Love ~ Luther Vandross

I Swear ~ 98 Degrees

Something new/different (awesome first song if you want to be different...)

Paralyzer by Finger Eleven... lol

Harder rock song, but good words! :)

Sure, some of those are sappy or old, but they are all nice. My suggestion for your wedding is - listen to the groups you both like as a couple and pick your fave songs that will show how you feel about each other. Doesn't matter if it's cliche or what, it's your wedding! Do what YOU guys want to do or you will regret it!
Reply:A song I hear many use at their weddings is "At Last" by Etta James. I believe it is from the 40s and is beautiful.
Reply:First of all, choose whatever you want regardless of how cliche it might be. It's all about what it means to you. secondly, each of you get a piece of paper and either your CD collections or the Internet. Each of you write down your top 10 songs you want for your wedding song. Then trade lists. You can only take 5 off of his list and he the same with yours. Then re-exchange and pick 2 favorites out of what is left. Then discuss and listen to the 4 songs in entirety, paying attention to lyrics, music, and how the song makes you feel, and choose from there.

You can't go wrong! Good luck!
Reply:Metallica's Nothing Else Matters
Reply:Van Morrison

He has the best music for this occasion. You have heard plenty of his music in movies, but he also has hundreds of great songs that are not worn out.

Good luck!
Reply:when i got married we didn't have a clue but a friend of

ours is a karoke person and we went though his books and picked songs out that way it was alot easier, also get lime wire on the computer and you can burn your own songs on a

disk for your wedding and keep it forever..
Reply:I got married April 21. We used Canon in D for the bridesmaids, I walked down the aisle to At Last, Eric Clapton's Wonderful Tonight was our unity sand song, and we walked back down the aisle together to the University of Oklahoma's fight song. It's all a matter of your personal tastes and how traditional you want to be. I clearly didn't want to be all that traditional. I have a friend who had her husband/groomsmen and bridesmaids walk in to the Imperial Death March from Star Wars!

I recommend going to amazon.com and searching for wedding music. You will be able to play clips of each song on the CD to determine whether or not you like the song without having to download the whole thing.

I sang It's Your Love (Tim McGraw/Faith Hill) and Because You Loved Me (Celine Dion) in two weddings recently.

Also, look at the following links. Maybe they will help!

Good luck and CONGRATULATIONS!
