Can anything think of a great song that could be sung at my wedding ceremony? It needs to be related to love or happiness, be easy for everyone to sing along to (so either most people know it or it is easy to pick up) and not a hymn. Probably something a bit older - not a modern top 40 pop song.

I was planning on using Time Stand Still by Rush because I like it, but then the whole design of the wedding changed and it didn't suit the atmosphere anymore. Good for you for including him even though you haven't always got along, a very mature decision.

umm... This is a shot in the dark, but there's a traditional Jewish song called Hava Nagela that's the first thing that comes to my mind from your description... It actually does have words but I think they're in Hebrew and I don't have a clue what they are. But you could probably find it on iTunes or YouTube to see if that's the song you're thinking of. If not, sorry...

My husband chose "Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys" by Willie Nelson. It was definately not my choice and I think my family was a little confused by it, but it's what he wanted. It turned out pretty good I guess.

What is a good song to have the guests (congregation) and everyone sing at a wedding?
We're getting married on 9/9/06 in a small chapel. We are expecting 80 guests. We are Christian. We are not having any soloists sing. We have access to an acoustic guitar player and a piano player and possibly a violin player for our wedding music. What is a good song that would relate to a wedding celebration or asking God to bless the union or something like that that the congregation could sing together?
We don't mind printing the words out for the guests, but the tune should be easy enough that anyone could sing along and not feel tension to hit very high or very low notes.

I'm getting married in Aug of next year and it's going to be at a winery, i would like to know if any of you have ideas for a song to dance to?
I will be having a DJ it's going to be tastelfull music. :)

Need wedding party and parents dance song recommendations?
I have no idea what songs to use for the wedding party dance or the parents dance.

I can't remember what our mother/son dance song was, but for me %26amp; my dad, we chose together, and it was Celine Dion - Because you loved me.
For our wedding party song, my dj surprised us actually and it was a great idea from her...we asked her to play "you look beautiful tonight" by Eric Clapton, but she told us when we got up there that when the song stops - change partners. So we all started out with who everyone walked down the isle with and me and my husband together and then about 5-10 seconds into the song, she changed it to a fast song and we all had to switch partners real quick. She picked about 7-8 different songs and just kept changing them from fast to slow and every time it changed, we switched again. It was lot's of fun and we got quite a few laughs out of it. Our guests enjoyed seeing us all scatter and then once I even got stuck and couldn't find anyone. It was fun :) Good luck!!

Anyway for the father daughter dance what about something like "Butterfly Kisses" it's a timeless classic, then for mother daughter there is a country song....you might have to search to find the name of it but it's about a mom being everything to the daughter, she brings her cheerios, kisses her boo boos reads her stories, then when she gets older she helps her to find the right guy and with her wedding,and then at the end when the mom is very old the daughter takes care of her...I thinkt he title is something like...somebodys hero.

Its "I'll be there for you" by the Rembrandt's. As for parents, if it is all biological and everyone is still married, "Remember When?" By Alan Jackson is a great song(even if you don't like country give it a listen). If they're not still together but you want to do a father-stepmother, mother-stepfather etc dance, you might want to talk to them about what they feel is appropriate.

I don't want anything that lots of other people have like 'I don't want to miss a thing' or 'Perfect moment'. I would like something you don't hear very often that has beatiful and meantingful words. Preferably something slow that could also be a song for a first dance. I have hit a mental block!

OMG it's the perfect song. I had my fiance download it and listen to it and be were both teary eyed and had chills. What we also liked about it was that it isn't a song that you find on those lists of common first dance songs. It's totally unique and it so beautiful. Also, it doesn't really have a country feel to it, so if you're not into country I think you'll still like it.

I've run 100's if not 1000's of weddings over the years and yes they all tend to have the same songs, I picked these 2 for mine as I'd never run a wedding that had choosen these songs but they also had meaning that was relevent to our relationship.

Reply:My fiance and I turned in our music packet to our dj with the first dance song written in and crossed out like five times because we kept changing it... we kept picking songs that "would do" but none of them felt like "the right one"... until yesterday when I was on here and saw that someone was going to use "Your Everything" by Keith Urban. OMG it's the perfect song. I had my fiance download it and listen to it and be were both teary eyed and had chills. What we also liked about it was that it isn't a song that you find on those lists of common first dance songs. It's totally unique and it so beautiful. Also, it doesn't really have a country feel to it, so if you're not into country I think you'll still like it.
