What was YOUR Wedding Song, and Why Did YOU PICK IT?

Love to hear your thoughts on Wedding Songs, as I am looking for a unique, not original, Wedding Song. This is my SECOND Marriage, my Son is giving me away, as my Parents and Siblings died, almost three years ago.





My son and I are Dancing to "I'll Be in Your Heart" by Phil Collins from Tarzan Disney Movie, since I am unable to dance with my Dad, I will dance with my Son, who is only 10!





But, my Fiancee is the Greatest, he never was married, no children, and a lifesaver, in so many ways! He was blessed by my Dad, to marry me, before he passed, and my Dad also asked him to watch me, as he did my son (He was 7).





I am looking for THAT song, that describes my love and how he saved me and been there for me, through the thick and thin, before he even knew what would happen.

My wedding song was an original written by my husband called "A Million Years"..very beautiful.


The song that came to my mind when you're describing your hubby 2 B was "All The Man" by Whitney Houston (not a big fan of hers, but this song is so beautiful!!!). The song I danced to with my brother in memory of my father was "My Special Angel" by Bobby Helms. It might be appropriate for you.
Reply:Long as I live by Jaheim, that's the song I'm walking down the isle with. It basically describes how I feel about my man %26amp; our future. He sings about how much he loves her %26amp; going to treat her about the future kids %26amp; you things like that. WE LOVE THAT SONG

Reply:My husband and I chose Beethoven's Ode to Joy for the wedding march. (second marriage for both) Our song at the reception was Collective Soul's Coming Home, last song on the blue album.

My song for my new hubby and I was Rascal Flatts "God Bless the Broekn Road"





we both have been married before and the words just seem to fit for us.........We have been through love and love lost and love that hurt, but it all of prepared us to be the person we needed to be when we met eachother to know that we are soul mates. It made us who we are and we are who we are as a couple for what we have learned in the roads that we traveled before we knew one another. Boy re-reading that I really hope that it made sence, it did when I was thinking it.

Reply:There's a great, free forum you should look at. If you go to www.etiquettehell.com, you can look over some of their forums and get some great ideas. The website was originally a place to tell wedding etiquette horror stories, but the forum itself has grown into a great place to get ideas for everything that has to do with weddings. I'm sure they'd have some great ideas for your song and for the Memorial. Don't be shy! They're good people :)

Reply:Our wedding song was "All My Life" by K-Ci and JoJo. I didn't pick it - my husband did - he said it reminded him of me, which if you knew him,you'd know he's not sentimental like that. So, we went with it.





As far as a memorial song for your parents - who would dance to it? I mean, if it's in memory of them, I would think noone would just out of respect. What we did for our deceased grandparents was have them mentioned before our wedding ceremony began.....just saying that we missed them and knew they were watching us from above. Everyone thought that was a nice thing.

If I had to do it over again I would choose 'AS' by George Michael and Mary J Blige. Oh yeah, to hear that gospel choir in the backround. :)

Reply:Hi, my wife and i chose "come what may" from the movie 'the moulin rouge' ...a marriage is easier said than done, knowing that many challenges await us, we thought that song would be appropriate. As she came down the 'isle' (we got married in a big garden) we played 'the power of love' by jennifer rush, i think? ...in memory of your parents...phil collins...'empty space'...don't really know? It would fit your situation perfectly. :) When he sings the song, it says that whatever you are going thru, I am here for you and I will lift you up above everything and everyone else. Reply:We used "There's No Way" by Alabama. It was a compromise-- I really wanted "I'll Be" by Edwin McCain but he hates that song (typical guy ) Some other good and not so commonly used ones I'd thought about are "Feels Like Home" by Chantel Kreviazuk, "True Companion" or "Healing Hands" by Mark Cohn, "This Year's Love" or "The One I Love" by David Gray, and there was a version of "Broken Road" done before Rascall Flatts version was ever thought of that I am partial to, by Melodie Crittenden. We actually used it as the recessional song.
