What song for father daughter dance at my wedding?

I am trying to think of something fun to do instead of your typical slow father daughter dance. One suggestion was Footloose. Have you ever been to a wedding where they did something unique? If so, what was the song they chose? Can you think of anything that would fun for both us and everyone else who is watching?

What song for father daughter dance at my wedding?
I went to a wedding where the father and daughter danced to "Pretty Woman". It was really cute. He was twirling her around the dance floor and they had a great time with it!!!
Reply:Use a song form his era and not only might that be fun for you it may bring up some good memories for him as well. I know my sister and my dad did The Twist and it was a hit.
Reply:What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong
Reply:the Macarena
Reply:I go to the father duaghter dance every year and i love Butterfly kisses by Garth Brooks
Reply:first of all Lost_in_love... Butterfly Kisses isnt by Garth Brooks.

I've been too a wedding where the the father/daughter dance started out in this cute song, then moved to the chicken dance. It was so funny.
Reply:Tangled Up Puppet...Harry Chapin

My daughter is having that at her wedding next month :)
Reply:You can choose to have a fast song, instead of the typical slow ballad for the father/daughter dance. Better yer, ask your dad to choose the song, it will mean so much to both of you.
Reply:What a fabulous idea... I think it would be a refreshing change from the emotional father daughter dance, especially if your dad is up for it!

You could go with something fun like, "It's Raining Men" or "Love Shack" or "I'm Too Sexy" or "Man! I Feel Like A Woman" if your dad is up for a joke.

Conversely, if you still want meaningful lyrics for you and your dad, in addition to something fun, you could go with "Oh What A Night (December '63)" or "Brown Eyed Girl." I'm particularly fond of "I Feel Good (I've Got You)" by James Brown, which might fit well in this circumstance.

Anyway, good luck, and have fun!!

Reply:"Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie Wonder. He wrote this for his daughter when she was little.

Butterfly Kisses stinks, it is sappy and overplayed. If you and dad are snappy dancers Footloose is fine, it is a hell of a quickstep.

Don't go for anything suggestive or sexual. It is inappropriate at a wedding, and doubly so for a father-daughter dance.
Reply:Well, I think it is great that you do not want the traditional slow and sappy father/daughter dance. I actually didn't have a slow song for me and my dad. We danced to "I'm So Excited". Neither one of us being great dancers, we pretty much improvised and just had a great time. My first marriage, me and my dad danced to Butterfly Kisses. Now everytime I hear that sone, I want to cry. It's kinda depressing for me. But when I hear "I'm So Excited", I remember back to me and my dad being crazy at the reception. It always makes me laugh. Good luck......And congratulations on your wedding!
Reply:if you want something more upbeat my girl by the temptations is cute or P.Y.T (pretty young thing) by Michael Jackson
Reply:Tim McGraw - My Little Girl
Reply:No but I like Tim McGraw singing my little girl
Reply:for my wedding i am dancing with my dad to tim mcgraws my little girl or heartland i loved her first. to make it fun you could do a traditional style song like that and then have it go into a remix of the same song...there are many remixes and if it made the song faster then it would be fun
Reply:Butterfly kisses by garth brooks my personal favorite
