What's your ideal 'wedding day song'?

Do you think it should be a soft song or anything but that? What if you wanted an ubeat song that wasn't 'normal' for a wedding song? You should have what you want, right? Or be traditional?

What's your ideal 'wedding day song'?
Jesu, Song of Man's Desiring.
Reply:i believe u should pick a song u like, whether is soft and slow or loud and fast. i prefer the soft and slow songs

soft and slow:

i wanna be your man--(off the love %26amp; basketball soundtrack)

endless love--diana ross

come away with me--norah jones

Upbeat:

promise ring--tiffany evans
Reply:I think it can be whatever you want it to be! I have seen couples dance to hip-hop and also to waltzes.

Four songs I personally love are:

Someone Like You - Van Morrison

True Companion - Marc Cohn

Book Of Love - Peter Gabriel

Lovely Day - Bill Withers

All are breathtaking and beautiful and any one of them would make a perfect wedding song!
Reply:You should definitely pick what YOU and of course your fiance want, you only get to have a wedding once, (hopefully, he he) so don't let "tradition" or other people's opinions...I know that this can be hard, esp. when your family is giving you all sorts of "opinions", but stand firm and pick whatever song will make you happiest at the moment you're dancing...on that note I won't give you a song idea, b/c my opinion doesn't matter, only yours does! Have a great wedding and a great life together!
Reply:"At Last" By Etta James or "Be the Man" by IL Divo
Reply:Poison by Alice Cooper!

Naaah I'm joking...

I'd have Fix You by Coldplay, or if it was with my current boyfriend our song, which is The Lovecats by The Cure would have to get played obviously!
Reply:I think it should be whatever the couple wants. It doesn't have to be a slow song.
Reply:hammer time
Reply:hahahaha.

I was just thinking of slow songs for this and the first thing that popped into my minnd was the song almost lover.

Goodbye my almost lover,

goodbye my hopeless dream,

i'm tryin not to think about you,

can't you just let me be?

So long my luckless romance,

my back is turned on you,

should've known you'd bring me heartache,

almost lovers always do.

haha i love to sing that song, it's so pretty! but probably not for a wedding..
Reply:You should have whatever suits you as a couple! If %26amp; when my man %26amp; I get married our song will be Without You by Motley Crue!!
Reply:Up to the person, but i'm loving justin timberlakes song "until the end of time" modern and traditional at the same time.
Reply:the very thought of you -by natalie cole
Reply:a song by jaheim and maybe a luther song or an oldie but goodie song --those are some of the best love ballads ever! pls belive....

i think you should have what you want but after all that is you and your soon to be husband special day and it's whatever rocks your boat. beleive me others will either complain or accept it. no matter what just play something with class and make sure it's appropriate for the young and old ears.

upbeat songs should really be played at the reception where everyone invited can get their groove and boogie on. feel me....(smiles)
Reply:John B, thats a good one! :)

You too, Caroline. I love that song by A Fine Frenzy.

I like We Belong Together by Mariah Carey
Reply:A Fun Song: Say Anything- Wow! I Can Get Sexual Too

A Slow Song: Rachel Yamagata- Be Be Your Love

A Fast Song: Cascada- Everytime We Touch
Reply:flying without wings- westlife

or

we belong together- gavin degraw
Reply:Bubbly, by Colbie Caillat
Reply:"She Blinded Me With Science"
Reply:A blink-182 song for sure, probably First Date :)

it is sorta a love song but its fast and awesome
Reply:I say go for what you want. I don't have a specific song but I figure something that means a lot to both us.
Reply:have 2 one slow and one up beat it's ur day ok i would go with a song from barry white or gunsn roses

Best wedding/love song performed by a woman?

Singing at a wedding this summer and want to pick a beautiful, beautiful song -- preferably one sang by a woman. Any ideas?

Best wedding/love song performed by a woman?
Here are a few suggestions for you:

1. Nora Jones-"One Fine Day," "The Nearness of You," "Turn Me On."

2. Billie Holiday-"Come Rain or Come Shine," "I ONly Have Eyes For You." "The Very Thought of You."

3. Ella Fitzgerald- "Isn't It Romantic" "Someone to watch over me."

4. Stevie Nicks- "At Last"

5. The Dixie Chicks- They do a really pretty song that is not too country, but I cannot remember the title.

6. Diane Krall- "PS I Love You." She has that sultry jazzy voice...some other songs would work well too.

7. Bette Midler- "The Rose"

As a singer myself, I would choose someone that is similar to my own vocal range and do a song search on the real music guide. I sang The Rose at my mom's wedding and people really enjoyed it.

Hope this helps!

Reply:DONT SING AVE MARIA. How about "O for the Wings of a Dove" by Stainer?
Reply:How lovely. Find out what their favourite romantic song is and sing that for them, they would love it!!
Reply:If the wedding is in a church why not sing the Hymn 'shine Jesus Shine' it is one the most beautiful hymns. For the music you could ask the organist and he should be able to provide you with both the music and the words - and obviously play the music for you.
Reply:There are more good songs than I could possibly list.

Are you singing at the ceremony or the reception? Does your friend prefer classical, contemporary, standards, etc?

You need to get your friend's choices. Then find one that works well with your voice.

Good luck.
Reply:Well, it might help if I knew, or you knew your friend's music preferences. I think that, despite voice description, you could sing anything. My suggestions are Keeper Of The Stars,

Lifestyles Of The Not So Rich And Famous (both are by Tracy Byrd), Had The Time Of My Life (from the original Dirty Dancing), Pink Flamingos, The First Step Is The Two Steop (both are by Tracy Byrd), and I'll Be There. Forive me, but the original singer's name, is eluding me. But I know it.

`lord of all hopefullness` 8th century irish hymn, most haunting and very beautiful.

Lord of all hopefulness, Lord of all joy,

Whose trust, ever childlike, no cares can destroy,

Be there at our waking, and give us, we pray,

Your bliss in our hearts, Lord, at the break of the day.

Lord of all eagerness, Lord of all faith,

Whose strong hands were skilled at the plane and the lathe,

Be there at our labours, and give us, we pray,

Your strength in our hearts, Lord at the noon of the day.

Lord of all kindliness, Lord of all grace,

Your hands swift to welcome, your arms to embrace,

Be there at our homing, and give us, we pray,

Your love in our hearts, Lord, at the eve of the day.

Lord of all gentleness, Lord of all calm,

Whose voice is contentment, whose presence is balm,

Be there at our sleeping, and give us, we pray,

Your peace in our hearts, Lord, at the end of the day.

Reply:Well it depends what sort of wedding they want to have, also it's based on there personalities and what types of music they like, i recommend songs about love and happiness something like Kelly Clarkson's 'Since U Been Gone' probably won't be appropriate. How about Avril Lavigne 'When Your Gone' or Wet Wet Wet 'Love is all around me' %26lt;--- I definitly recommend that one, i can always send it to you if you can't get ahold of it. Another good site to go to is

Is this the best wedding song of all time ?

I just ran across this in aol music and right away thought this was the best song for a wedding i had ever heard, what do you think?

http://music.aol.com/video/realize/colbi...

Is this the best wedding song of all time ?
i LOVE that song...actually i love her entire CD...colbie has a song titled "magic" and i am contemplating using that as my wedding song--the piano version. theres something about her voice that just gets me. :)

and that could be a wedding song...no doubt...because by the time you get married, youve "realized"...its kind of like a flashback to the beginning of your relationship...
Reply:The best wedding song is the song that you two both love, and what reflects who you both are.

There is no one song because you're unique. Remember, the lyrics should reflect on you both, not just the bride or just the groom.
Reply:The best wedding song is: "Run, Run For Your Life" by the Eternal Bachelors.
Reply:I'll stand by you - the pretenders.

that was my best friend's wedding song.
Reply:I'm getting married this coming Oct and i too am stuck on what i want our first song to be at the reception. I love the traditional "Luther Vandross- Here and Now", but ya know, i'm also digging the Justin Timberlake/Beyonce "Until the End of Time". It's more...current...updated...new age even. Something i'm actually looking for (my "theme" if you will, is an updated version/new spin on what my parents did and grandparents before that).

In fact, i wish i could just meld a few songs together somehow which will really convey the feelings. (that's what i do with greeting cards.. i always buy more than one to ensure my feelings are as fully encompassed as can be).

Peace and Love

MissChe
Reply:sorry, not loving it
Reply:Thats not a wedding song honey,

this is a wedding song and is the song im walking to down the aisle.

"I swear" by all-4-one

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDcpXlttq...
Reply:It is a very nice song, however it sounds more like a song for a girl who is after a guy that is not that in to her or something, that she is trying to make REALIZE that they would be good together and I would hope that wouldn't be the case if they were getting married!

V1: Take time to realize,

That your warmth is. Crashing down on in.

Take time to realize,

That I am on your side

Didn't I, Didn't I tell you.

But I can't spell it out for you,

No it's never gonna be that simple

No I cant spell it out for you

C: If you just realize what I just realized,

Then we'd be perfect for each other

and will never find another

Just realized what I just realized

we'd never have to wonder if

we missed out on each other now.

V2: Take time to realize

Oh-oh I'm on your side

didn't I, didn't I tell you.

Take time to realize

This all can pass you by.. Didn't I tell you

But I can't spell it out for you,

no its never gonna be that simple

no I can't spell it out for you.

C: If you just realized what I just realized

then we'd be perfect for each other

then we'd never find another

Just realized what I just realized

we'd never have to wonder if

we missed out on each other now.

V3: It's not always the same

no it's never the same

if you don't feel it to.

If you meet me half way

If you would meet me half way.

It could be the same for you.

C: If you just realized what I just realized

then we'd be perfect for each other

then we'd never find another

Just realized what I just realized

Reply:I'm not sure if this will help but i got married two years ago. In the wedding ceremony itself we used some classics, some classical music. But for our song. The one we chose to dance our first dance too we chose Katie Melua, Closest thing to Crazy! lol.

I think we were both crazy! But listen to some albums that you both like. Chose a song which means something to you both.

If you mean for the actual wedding. Just go with some Classical tunes. They always work well. Ask your parents if they have some favourite tunes.. they'd feel well special if they heard thier tunes in your wedding...

If all else fails just type in wedding tunes in a search bar! lol

Wedding song... ideas?

I'm helping out with a wedding in November of this year. I'm supposed to be looking for wedding songs for a first dance, as well as a father/daughter dance song. The first dance has to have something to do with being friends or even dating for a long time before getting to this final step. The father/daughter dance... well, they've been through some hard times, not speaking, things like that. I need something to showcase their relationship.

I know this is a lot to ask with all these guidelines, but I'm stumped. I'll take a look at anything!

Thanks so much.

i would give all i'm worth to be a part of your life

i could promise the world but it's out of my hands

i can only give you everything i have

when life seems unclear

and when i can't be right there with you

i know there's angels by your side

if i could be the perfect man in your eyes

When my (then b/f) first heard that song, it brough tears to his eyes.

You have time. I would advise that when you listen to the radio, keep a piece of paper close by. When you hear a possible song you like, write it down. I had about 30 to my list.

Were in heaven

Baby your all that i want.

When your lying here in my arms

I'm finding it hard to believe were in heaven

Were in heaven

Oh thinking about our younger years

if it was only you and me

we were young and wild and free

now nothing can take you away from me

weve been down that road before

thats over now

you'll be coming back for more

Baby your all that i want.

When your lying here in my arms

I'm finding it hard to believe were in heaven

And heaven's is all that i need

And I found it there in your heart

It isn't to hard to see were in heaven

Were in heaven

Now nothing can change what you mean to me

theres a lot that i can say, but just hold me now

because our love will light the way

Baby your all that i want.

When your lying here in my arms

I'm finding it hard to believe were in heaven

And heaven's is all that i need

And I found it there in your heart

It isn't to hard to see were in heaven

Now our dreams are coming true.

Through the good times and the bad

I'll be standing there by you

Were in heaven

And heaven's is all that i need

And I found it there in your heart

It isn't to hard to see were in heaven

Were in heaven

At last

my love has come along

my lonely days over

and life is like a song

Ooh At last

the skies above are blue

well my heart was wrapped up in clover

the night I looked at you

I found a dream

that I could speak to

a dream that I could call my own

I found a thrill

to press my cheek to

a thrill that I have never known

well

You smile

you smile

oh and then the spell was cast

and here we are in heaven

for you are mine at last

I found a dream

that I could speak to

a dream that I

could call my own

I found a thrill

to press my cheek to

a thrill that I have never known

What do you suggest would be a great wedding song?

My Baby Just Cares for Me by Nina Simone

This song was in a Chanel No. 5 commercial in 1987 (I'm showing my age) and I use to love listening to it.

It reminded me of my husband, he so desperately needed help with his clothes and style. And one of the verses has

My baby don't care for shows

Would Aeris' Theme from FFVII work well as a wedding song?

My mom is getting married and wants me to a play a song during the ceremony while everyone is going up the aisle.

Do you think Aeris' theme from FFVII would work well? It is my favorite game and the song is beautiful, just not sure if it would sound appropriate in a wedding. I have no problems that the song is from a video game, and neither would my mom, I am just wondering about the song itself.

Thanks for the thoughts!

Would Aeris' Theme from FFVII work well as a wedding song?
OMG I LOOOOVE that song! FFVII is the BEST! I think it would be appropriately romantic, especially the updated orchestrated version. Its not a "singing" kind of love song but a very emotional one none the less. I could see it applied in this situation. I would play it for her and see if she likes it.
Reply:Your mother wants you to play the song, but she should pick it out. You can have your song during your own wedding.

I would play something pretty while they walk down the aisle. If she doesn't want the traditional "here comes the bride" than maybe one of her favorite songs without the lyrics!

I know I have played FF games, and I know that they do have some good sounding pieces, but it's not appropriate for a wedding!

There's two things I know for sure.

She was sent here from heaven,

and she's daddy's little girl.

As I drop to my knees by her bed at night,

she talks to Jesus, and I close my eyes.

And I thank God for all of the joy in

my life, But most of all, for...

Butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer.

Stickin' little white flowers all up in her hair.

"Walk beside the pony

daddy, it's my first ride."

"I know the cake looks funny,

daddy, but I sure tried."

Oh, with all that I've done wrong,

I must have done something right

To deserve a hug every morning,

And butterfly kisses at night.

Sweet sixteen today,

She's looking like her momma

a little more everyday.

One part woman, the other part girl.

To perfume and makeup,

from ribbons and curls.

Trying her wings out in a great

big world. But I remember...

Butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer.

Stickin' little white flowers all up in her hair.

"You know how much I love you daddy,

But if you don't mind,

I'm only going to kiss you on

the cheek this time."

With all that I've done wrong

I must have done something right.

To deserve her love every morning,

And butterfly kisses at night.

All the precious time

Like the wind, the years go by

Precious butterfly

Spread your wings and fly

She'll change her name today.

She'll make a promise,

and I'll give her away.

Standing in the bride room

just staring at her,

she asked me what I'm thinking,

and I said "I'm not sure,

I just feel like I'm losing my baby girl."

Then she leaned over....and gave me....

Butterfly kisses, with her mama there

Sticking little flowers all up in her hair

"Walk me down the aisle, daddy, it's just about time"

"Does my wedding gown look pretty, daddy?"

"Daddy,

don't cry."

With all that I've done wrong,

I must have done something right

To deserve her love every morning,

And butterfly kisses

I couldn't ask God for more, man, this is what love is

I know I've gotta let her go, but I'll always remember

Every hug in the morning, and butterfly kisses...

A Song For My Daughter On Her Wedding Day

Artist - Ray Allaire

Just once upon a yesterday

I held you in my arms

You grew into a little girl

with lovely childhood charms

Now it seems I only turned around

And I see you by his side

Oh, I can't believe my eyes today

My daughter is a bride

I guess somehow I always knew

This day would soon be here

Still I wonder as I look at you

What became of all the years

And no words could ever quite express

The way I feel inside

Oh, I can't believe my eyes today

My daughter is a bride

All the laughter and the teardrops

The sunshine and the rain

I would relive every moment, Dear

If I could bring them all back again

But now, my love, the time has come

To send you on your way

So I wish you every happiness

And the blessings of this day

And I hope the love I've given you

Will forever be your guide

Oh, I can't believe my eyes today

My daughter - Oh, I can't believe my eyes

My daughter - Oh, my angel and my pride

My daughter is a bride

thought love was

Only true in fairy tales

Meant for someone else

But not for me

Love was out to get to me

That's the way it seems

Disappointment haunted

All my dreams

And then I saw her face

Now I'm a believer

Not a trace

Of doubt in my mind

I'm in love

I'm a believer

I couldn't leave her

If I tried

I thought love was

More or less a given thing

The more I gave the less

I got, oh yeah

What's the use in trying

All you get is pain

When I wanted sunshine

I got rain

And then I saw her face

Now I'm a believer

Not a trace

Of doubt in my mind

I'm in love

You Had Me From Hello-Bon Jovi

At the mirror you fix your hair and put your makeup on

You're insecure about what clothes to wear

I can't see nothing wrong

To me you look so beautiful when you can't make up your mind

It's half past eight, it's getting late

It's OK, take your time

Standing here my hands in my pockets

Like I have a thousand times

Thinking back it took one breath

One word to change my life

[Chorus:]

The first time I saw you it felt like coming home

If I never told you I just want you to know

You had me from hello

When we walk into a crowded room it's like we're all alone

Everybody tries to kidnap your attention

You just smile and steal the show

You come to me and take my hand

We start dancin' slow

You put your lips up to my ear and whisper way down low

[Chorus:]

From the first time I saw you it felt like coming home

If I never told you I just want you to know

You had me from hello

And when you're laying down beside me

I feel your heartbeat to remind me...

[Chorus:]

The first time I saw you it felt like coming home

If I never told you I just want you to know

You had me from hello

From hello

From hello

Wedding Song Advice?

We are all set for our wedding on July 7th. The planning/organization was easy. The hard part for us has been having to choose a wedding song. We don't want anything cliche or tacky, and at the same time, we want something that speaks of our relationship without sacrificing my musical taste or his (I am pretty main-stream and he is off the beaten path).

Please help!

Wedding Song Advice?
for my wedding i've taken it upon myself to hand pick every single song that will be played in both the ceremony and reception, that way i can make complete sure that i won't have to personally kill any dj that plays crap like chicken dance and cotton-eyed-joe. here's a few songs that are on my list, hope this helps!

the black crows - she talks to angels

cranberries - linger

coldplay - yellow

howie day - collide

gavin degraw - all for you

dave matthews band - crush

dashboard confessional - stolen

ben folds - the luckiest

the flaming lips - do you realize

lauryn hill - you're just too good to be true (can't take my eyes off you)

nora jones - come away with me

jack's mannequin - the mixed tape

plain white t's - hey there delilah

the postal service - such great heights

rolling stones - wild horses

smashing pumpkins - by starlight

adam sandler - i wanna grow old with you

van morrison - crazy love

keith urban - making memories of us

Can't Take My Eyes Off of You

Only Hope ~ Mandy Moore (or Switchfoot does it, too)

You and Me ~ Lifehouse

Endless Love ~ Luther Vandross

I Swear ~ 98 Degrees

Something new/different (awesome first song if you want to be different...)

Paralyzer by Finger Eleven... lol

Harder rock song, but good words! :)

Sure, some of those are sappy or old, but they are all nice. My suggestion for your wedding is - listen to the groups you both like as a couple and pick your fave songs that will show how you feel about each other. Doesn't matter if it's cliche or what, it's your wedding! Do what YOU guys want to do or you will regret it!
Reply:A song I hear many use at their weddings is "At Last" by Etta James. I believe it is from the 40s and is beautiful.
Reply:First of all, choose whatever you want regardless of how cliche it might be. It's all about what it means to you. secondly, each of you get a piece of paper and either your CD collections or the Internet. Each of you write down your top 10 songs you want for your wedding song. Then trade lists. You can only take 5 off of his list and he the same with yours. Then re-exchange and pick 2 favorites out of what is left. Then discuss and listen to the 4 songs in entirety, paying attention to lyrics, music, and how the song makes you feel, and choose from there.

You can't go wrong! Good luck!
Reply:Metallica's Nothing Else Matters
Reply:Van Morrison

He has the best music for this occasion. You have heard plenty of his music in movies, but he also has hundreds of great songs that are not worn out.

Good luck!

Reply:I got married April 21. We used Canon in D for the bridesmaids, I walked down the aisle to At Last, Eric Clapton's Wonderful Tonight was our unity sand song, and we walked back down the aisle together to the University of Oklahoma's fight song. It's all a matter of your personal tastes and how traditional you want to be. I clearly didn't want to be all that traditional. I have a friend who had her husband/groomsmen and bridesmaids walk in to the Imperial Death March from Star Wars!

I recommend going to amazon.com and searching for wedding music. You will be able to play clips of each song on the CD to determine whether or not you like the song without having to download the whole thing.

I sang It's Your Love (Tim McGraw/Faith Hill) and Because You Loved Me (Celine Dion) in two weddings recently.

Also, look at the following links. Maybe they will help!

Good luck and CONGRATULATIONS!

I knew the bride when she used to rock and roll

I knew the bride when she used to rock and roll

Well, the bride was a picture in the gown that her mama wore

When she was married herself nearly twenty-seven years before

The had to change the style a little but it looked just fine

Stayed up all night, but they got it finished just in time

Now on the arm of her daddy, she's walkin' down the aisle

I see her catch my eye and give me a secret smile

Maybe it's too old fashioned, but we once were close friends

Oh but the way that she looks today, she never could have then.

WELL, I can see her now in her tight blue jeans

Stuffin' all her money in the record machine

Spinnin' like a top, you shoulda seen her go

I knew the bride when she used to rock and roll

I knew the bride when she used to rock and roll

Well, the proud daddy only want to give his little girl the best

So he put down a grand on a cozy little lover's nest

You could have called the reception an unqualified success

At a posh hotel for a hundred and fifty guests

Well, take a look at the bridegroom smilin' pleased as pie

Shakin' hands all around with a glassy look in his eye

He got a real good job and his shirt and tie is nice

But I remember a time when she never would have looked at him twice

Well, I can see her now drinkin' with the boys

Breakin' their hearts like they were toys

She used to do the pony, she used to do the stroll

I knew the bride when she used to rock and roll

I knew the bride when she used to rock and roll

I knew the bride when she used to rock and roll

I knew the bride when she used to rock and roll

Harp ride

Well, I can see her now with her walk man on

Struttin' up and down to her favorite song

I still remember when she used to wanta make a lot of noise

Hoppin' and boppin' with the street corner boys

She used to wanna party, she used to wanna go

I knew the bride when she used to rock and roll

I knew the bride when she used to rock and roll

I knew the bride when she used to rock and roll

I knew the bride when she used to rock and roll

I knew the bride when she used to do the pony

This is where the cream is gonna rise

This is what you really didn't know

This is where the truth don't lie

{Chorus}

You find out who you're friends are

Somebody's gonna drop everything

Run out and crank up their car

Hit the gas get there fast

Never stop to think 'what's in it for me' or 'it's way too far'

They just show on up with their big old heart

You find out who you're friends are

Everybody wants to slap your back

wants to shake your hand

when you're up on top of that mountain

But let one of those rocks give way then you slide back down look up

and see who's around then

This ain't where the road comes to an end

This ain't where the bandwagon stops

This is just one of those times when

A lot of folks jump off

{Chorus}

When the water's high

When the weather's not so fair

When the well runs dry

Who's gonna be there

{Chorus}

Is "she's everything" by brad paisley a good song for a first dance at my wedding?

I LOVE that song..but when my mom listened to it she said that the first dance song should be about the both of us and that it was selfish for me to want that as our wedding song....the lyrics fit me..and my fiance loves the song...please look at the lyrics and tell me your honest opinion!!! thank youuu

Is "she's everything" by brad paisley a good song for a first dance at my wedding?
If you both LOVE it, then my answer is yes...
Reply:I love the song...if your fiance says he is fine with dancing to that song, then I say go for it! It isnt selfish to want to dance to that song.....
Reply:I checked out the lyrics and i have to say as they are beautiful words I agree with your mom, maybe you can have the DJ dedicate it to your fiance later in the day. You need to pick a song that describes the love you have for each other. It will be a song that will bring a smile to each of you when ever you hear it. Good luck
Reply:its one of my favourite songs, the lyrics are fitting and IF your fiance likes the song then no worries, but your mum does have a point the song is very one-sided. the only wedding i've been to where a song was so one-sided was many years ago and the song was 'amanda' which was the bride's name. there were a few raised eyebrows from the guests over that, the only one that thought it worked was the bride.
Reply:Aw I think that's a sweet song. As long as you and your fiance like it, it's a good choice! If your fiance or mom really hate it, there are tons of other great country songs that could be for a first dance. I also love Lost in the Moment by Big %26amp; Rich. But ultimately it is your %26amp; your fiance's choice!

Good song for aunt to dance with nephew at wedding?

My nephew is only 5 years younger than me and he and I were more like cousins growing up. He lived w/ my family for a short time too when he was a child. He's getting married in October, and he has asked me to in the wedding. I also want to have a dance for just us, what song do you think would be appropriate? Title and artist?

What was your first dance song at your wedding?

I'm trying to get some ideas.... I like When you love someone by bryan adams but now i'm not sure if it's the right song for the occasion. But I would like to hear from all of you and tell me what was your song.

What was your first dance song at your wedding?
I've always like Bryan Adams, just his voice. But I really like his song Everything I do, I do it for you. I think it would be a nice first dance song. It starts off with "look into my eyes and you will see what you mean to me" which to me would just bring tears on your special day.
Reply:We went ethnic - used a traditional Ukrainian love ballad.
Reply:Frank Sinatra - The Way You Look Tonight
Reply:Ocean by Hanna McEuen! AMAZING song. It was really personal to the both of us. That is the most important thing! Good luck!
Reply:I'm going to get married and my song is going to beaut by Dru hill. My cousin and her new husband has just got married last week and they wrote and recorded there wedding song so if you and your man have a singing voice try that.
Reply:Book of Love by The Magnetic Fields.
Reply:Getting married soon!!! Our wedding song for our first dance is going to be "My Best Friend" by Tim McGraw! As soon as I heard it for the first time I knew I wanted it.
Reply:We didn't dance, but if I had to pick a song, it would be "Twilight Time" by the Platters.
Reply:Its your love by Tim Mcgraw. It was so sweet we just got done feeding each other cake. I had no idea that he planned this. He grabbed me by the hand and walked into the middle of the room. The lights dimmed a little and that song came on. The thing that really showed me he loved me was that he could not dance. Over the year that I was planning our wedding he went and took dance classes to learn how to dance just so he could dance with me at our wedding. He knew that was my dream, but I wouldn't have dared to ask him to take classes because I know how shy he is. I hope your wedding is as memorable as mine was. Everything went perfect. But remember to relax and breathe. This is your moment. Don't worry about the little things that could go wrong. Because it will all be fine.
Reply:My husband and I were married last Saturday and our song was Some People by LeAnn Rimes

Some People:

Isn't it a gamble

Layin' your heart out on the floor

Nothin' short of a miracle

When you find the one you're looking for

It's another kind of trouble trying to hang on to who you are

When all you wanna do is lose yourself in someone else's arms

Isn't it a wonder (that) we got this far

Some people aren't lucky like us

Some people they just give up

When the hard times fall

The thrill of it all is gone

Leaves you in a cloud of dust

It's sad to think that some won't find it

And others won't recognize it even when it comes

We're all at the mercy of the will of love

Some people yeah

Some people aren't lucky like us

Two lonely souls that just stumbled into fate

Look how much we've been given babe

In spite of all of our mistakes

And I will never forget I've been blessed with the gift of lovin' you

And when the going aint easy babe

A little faith will pull us through

Thank God we have eachother we can hang onto

[repeat chorus]

[Bridge]

To have someone you can laugh with

Someone you can cry with

Tell all your secrets to

To have someone who won't judge you

Someone who just loves you

No matter what, they stand beside you

[repeat chorus]

I am looking for title of a wedding song?

the beginning of the song goes like this: held captive by your love imprisoned in your heart. at least i think that is how it starts

I am looking for title of a wedding song?
i think the song you are asking about is called EAT IT by Weird Al Yankovic
Reply:sheltered by you
Reply:All I can find doing a lyrics search is this song, The First Time Ever I saw your Face, by Gordon Lightfoot, but the lyrcis dont match perfectly.

I dont think you have the lyrics right, where have you heard the song before?
Reply:may be EAT IT or Power of love
Reply:How about I give you to great songs that will bring tears to your eyes for you wedding. There is a song called 5 steps by Dru Hill and another song called He Proposed to me by Kelly Price. I gurantee you love these songs. Also they aren't white ppl they are black singers who can sing like hell.

Does anyone think the song "Concerning Hobbits" is a good wedding song?

Its the main theme from Lord of the Rings. NOT the loud adventure one, but the quiet one done with either strings or a flute. I think it is a perfect wedding song.

Does anyone think the song "Concerning Hobbits" is a good wedding song?
good for Hobbit's and LOTR fans, I guess...
Reply:Yes it is!! That's one of my favorite movie score songs! I say go for it!
Reply:i think u are nuts
Reply:It's a lovely instrumental song and very emotional, however it will probably be recognized as the Hobbit theme. If you like that sound, you could probably search online and find instrumental music with a similar feel. If you're both LOTR fans, or don't care if people think of it as the Hobbit theme, then go ahead.

Any suggestions on a song for a Wedding party dance?

Reply:Apache - Jump On It by Sugarhill Gang
Reply:r. kelly-happy people or r. kelly- step in the name of love

both are upbeat and fun
Reply:I think Cha Cha Cha by Chelo will give everybody the jitters 2 groove away 2 =]. Or try an oldie, like Hounddog or a special dance mix by a DJ. But personally I think Cha Cha Cha would hit the spot. It's upbeat and happy.

I think i have found the perfect wedding song - what do you think??

It is called Pachabel's Canon in D Major - Wedding March.

I don't usually go for classical songs but it made me cry and still does everytime i hear it. When i look at my other half i just feel all the love i have for him and he has for me.

If you can find it listen to it or if you know i would be grateful for opinions and feelings.

I think i have found the perfect wedding song - what do you think??
It is absolutely beautiful! It's definitely the song for you if it makes you cry like that! Sort of like when your fiance proposed to you... you just knew he was the one for you, I am sure :o) So definitely go with the song. Any song that moves you like that is "the song!"

Congratulations on your engagement!!! Enjoy every second of planning... it's so much fun!
Reply:I too love this song and feel the same way you do. I have chosen this song to be done at our wedding in person by a friend of ours who plays the piano.

I think it will be very beautiful in your wedding. Good luck on your special day!!
Reply:try it
Reply:Beautiful song. It was played when my bridesmaids walked the aisle. Now everytime I hear that song, I think of that day, and how I felt (and usually tear up). If you like it, go for it. It's your day, and if you think it's perfect than just go for it! Good Luck and Congrats.

Reply:fabulous taste - now all you have to do is propose to him :) xx
Reply:My sister is getting married next April and she picked this song out at the weekend for her processional.

It's absolutely beautiful and the harpist she's organised has done a fantastic job arranging the music for the harp.

I highly recommend it, and like yourself, I shed a tear or two listening to it.

Best of luck with the plans and the big day!
Reply:I wish you all the love in the world with your new husband to be.. will have a listen to the music..

Reply:LOADS of people use that, it is very serene, so very suitable for weddings. Much better than "Here comes the Bride"
Reply:it is a great song. use it. but it might be a little too common if ur a unique person
Reply:The first time I heard that song I just loved it. I had it played when I walked down the aisle.
